It seems like winter was just yesterday... But now it's time for Spring's 2010 See's Candy Fundraiser!

Remember that these Fundraisers help support your Pinning Ceremonies! The more money you raise, the less you will pay later when you graduate. Doesn't that sound like a good deal? The answer is Yes.

WHEN: March 1st - March 15th (Deadline). 2 weeks!
WHY: 75% of what you raise goes to your own cohort pinning ceremony, 25% to the CSUSM Student Nurses Association
WHO: Cohort reps will be collecting orders and CASH ONLY!

-Orders to be distributed the week of March 22nd, Monday.

The deadline for submitting FAFSA forms are coming up really soon. March 2nd is the deadline.

Go to http://www.fafsa.ed.gov/ and fill out the application and submit it by March 2nd to qualify for extra cash. Why not?

Pat & Oscar's Fundraiser Event = SUCCESS

Students, family members, and friends joined together for good food and company last night at Pat & Oscar's. Thank you everyone who came out and supported the fundraiser! We appreciate it more than you know.

CSUSM SON to help residents of Tijuana (Feb. 20th)

CSUSM School of Nursing is planning to take students to Tijuana on Saturday, February 20th.

The focus groups for this project include ill, homeless senior citizens and impoverished children and families living above a dump, both in Tijuana, Mexico. Our goals include providing quality nursing care and health promotion to these populations.

Donations for supplies would be greatly appreciated and would help 180 impoverished residents of Tijuana. (Supplies include things such as: gauze, gloves, lotion, toys for children, socks, blankets, etc)

HELP HAITI NOW - "Donation $ Collection"

With the recent Haiti earthquake disaster, hundreds of thousands are in dire need of help. Doctors and nurses lack medical supplies to help treat all those who are injured. Thousands of families don't even have sufficient supplies of water and food to survive. We are trying in every way to help... And you can too.

What: Donation $ Collection for Haiti
Who: Please give your donations to your Cohort Rep
When: Starting NOW

Donation money to help Haiti will be collected starting now. All of your donations will be sent to an organization that will go directly to helping all of those in need in Haiti.

Please, please give what you can. Everything counts.. even if it's just a little. So many are so helpless, and your contributions can and will make the biggest difference.

Help Haiti Now - "Soles4Souls" Shoe Drive

What: Collecting gently worn men's, women's, and kid's shoes.
When: Now until January 29, 2010

Please bring in your gently worn shoes for donation. There will be a large box in the SMACC building for you to drop your shoes off.

This drive is being held in partnership with SLL to support the Sport Chalet's Soles4Souls drive. All shoes collected from this drive will be sent directly to the people of Haiti.

Please bring and give what you can. Everything helps!

2010 Nurse Job Fair (For Graduating Seniors Only)

The Career Center is hosting the 2^nd Annual Nurse Job Fair on 2/8/2010 from 11 am – 2 pm at SMACC. This fair is designed for students who graduated in Dec 2009 or will be graduating in May 2010. Lunches will be provided to the students while supplies last. Currently we have 4 organizations registered:

-Palomar Pomerado Health
-Tri-City Medical Center
-San Diego Hospice and The Institute for Palliative Medicine
-Sharp HealthCare

H1N1 Flu Shots AVAILABLE FOR ALL!

All students (especially nursing) and faculty are encouraged to get their H1N1 flu shots now available!! These flu shots are free.
